Postponing Wing Threads: Flight Around Oz

Time for a break

the non-skeletal kind

Recently I made the difficult decision to postpone Wing Threads: Flight Around Oz for 12 months.*

As you are most likely aware, I broke my leg in an incident with a trailer in August of this year, then two months later slipped in the bathroom and broke my wrist as well, which required surgery. I haven’t been able to fly since then and won’t be back in the air until January.

My fears of losing support and momentum for Wing Threads have prevented me from coming to this decision sooner. However, I believe it would be crazy for me to try to circumnavigate Australia 3 months after a 5 month hiatus from flying when I am not back up to 100% fitness with the two injuries I’ve sustained this year.
Thank you so much to everyone for your incredible support over the past few years. It has certainly helped to keep me going during what have been some challenging times! Here’s to more exciting times ahead. I can only see how this extra 12 months will be of benefit to the project.

*I have since made the decision to postpone Flight Around Oz until 2021.
