Event Details

We’d like to invite you to the official launch of the newly established Top End branch of Birdlife Australia!

Guest Speaker: Zoologist, artist and pilot Amellia Formby.

BirdLife Top End is one of a large network of branches that are part of the largest bird conservation organisation in Australia – BirdLife Australia. Birdlife Top End aims to be a central forum for birdwatchers, bird researchers, photographers and anyone with an interest in the wonderful birds we have in the Top End and their protection and conservation. We plan to share information on where birds are, what species occur in different habitat types, how to correctly survey birds, and how to protect them and their habitat.

We also have a special guest speaker for the event – Amellia Formby. Amellia is planning on flying a microlight around Australia in 2019 to promote urgent conservation action for migratory shorebirds. She will tell us her story in more detail at the launch, and will have her microlight on display. See http://wingthreads.com/ for more information.
